Hero Cup Teams Announced

November 30, 2022

Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari will captain their respective teams in the inaugural Hero Cup at Abu Dhabi Golf Club from January 13-15.

The European duo, who won all four matches at the 2018 Ryder Cup, will work alongside 2023 European Ryder Cup skipper Luke Donald.

Two 10-man teams will compete in fourballs, foursomes and singles, with every player competing each day. The contest aims to give potential 2023 Ryder Cup players leadership and playing experience in team matchplay events. Among the Continental Europe team are Alex Noren, Thomas Pieters and rising star Rasmus Hojgaard.

For Great Britain & Ireland, Tyrrell Hatton, Shane Lowry, Rob McIntyre and Matt Wallace will compete in Abu Dhabi.

The Hero Cup immediately follows successive Rolex Series events at Yas Links Golf Club (Jan 19-22) and Emirates Golf Club (Jan 26-29).
