10-Week Fitness Challenge: The Results

March 26, 2023

We finished our 10-week challenge here at What’s The Craic DubEye, and we all had a fantastic time throughout the ten weeks. It wasn’t easy at times, but like anything in life, you have to go out and earn what you want. Thank everyone at What’s The Craic DubEye for trusting me to oversee this challenge and, hopefully, many more to come!

Niall

Starting with Niall, the main goal over the ten weeks was to strip some body fat and add a small amount of lean muscle tissue. As you can see from his before and after pictures, this is exactly what we did. It was challenging at times between all the activities he had going on in his life, and monitoring his workload was crucial to keeping him motivated and disciplined. His calories were nearly 3,000 for the first six weeks, and we gradually lowered them for the last four. Even at 3,000 calories, he was losing some weight each week, which showed how much he was expending on his energy needs. Overall, I am super happy with Niall’s results and know he is too. He put in tremendous work over the ten weeks; his results show this!

Roisin

I have spoken about this before, but she could have had all the excuses in the world for not doing well in this challenge. A new baby, a new business, early mornings, long days, family and friends over from Ireland visiting, you name it, she could have used the excuse. Not once did she use one of them. We started slowly to make sure she was OK after her pregnancy. We went through some pelvic floor and core exercises and took the resistance training light and steady. By the end of the ten weeks, she was hip thrusting 100kgs! This was a phenomenal effort by Roisin, and she was a joy to work with. She has said that she has found a new love for weight training and will continue it in the future!

John

John’s goal was similar to Niall’s. Lose some weight and add some muscle. We trained three times per week, which were structured into upper, lower and full body days. The work rate John gives when he enters the gym is unbelievable. If only he could kick a ball straight, he would have played for Dublin in his day. In all seriousness, he was fantastic to work with. He never complained, always showed up, and was eager to learn something new every time he stepped on the gym floor. Looking at his before and after photos, you can see how strong he has become, which also shows in his lifts. Onwards and upwards for this man if he sticks with the training.
